Pre-Departure & Travel Advice
Travelers departing from Cape Town International Airport (CPT) can connect to Entebbe International Airport (EBB) via Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, RwandAir, or Emirates, usually transiting through Addis Ababa, Nairobi, or Kigali. The full travel time averages 8–12 hours depending on layovers. It is highly recommended to arrive in Entebbe a day before the safari officially starts to rest and adjust after your international flight.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – The Gateway to Uganda
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our professional safari guide. After a short transfer to your lodge, you can unwind in the tropical air that drifts from nearby Lake Victoria. Depending on your arrival time, optional visits can be arranged to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, or a lakeside sunset dinner.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park – Scenic Journey North
After breakfast, set off for Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most magnificent conservation area. En route, visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in the country to track rhinos on foot. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue through rural landscapes to the park. Arrive in time to relax as the sun sets over the Nile River.

Day 3: Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise – The Power of the Falls
At sunrise, embark on a thrilling game drive on the Buligi tracks between the Nile and Lake Albert. Look out for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, and numerous antelope species grazing in the golden grass. Return to the lodge for lunch and later enjoy a boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, where hippos, crocodiles, and colorful kingfishers abound. For adventurers, a guided hike to the top of the falls can be arranged, offering breathtaking views of the Nile’s 43-meter plunge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park – The Primate Capital of the World
After breakfast, journey south through Hoima and Fort Portal to Kibale National Park, a rainforest renowned for its 13 primate species, including chimpanzees and rare L’Hoest’s monkeys. The scenic drive takes you past tea plantations, crater lakes, and small towns, giving you a glimpse of Uganda’s tranquil countryside. Arrive in the afternoon and check into your forest lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk – Up Close with Primates
Begin your day with an early morning chimpanzee tracking experience. After a briefing, set off into the forest accompanied by rangers and guides. The trek takes you through lush vegetation where you may encounter other primates like red colobus monkeys and blue monkeys. Once you find the chimpanzees, you’ll spend an hour observing their behavior and communication. In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run reserve home to rich birdlife and cultural interaction.

Day 7: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise – Nature’s Symphony

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway linking Lakes Edward and George. The cruise is a photographer’s dream, with hundreds of hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and vibrant bird species lining the shores.

Day 8: Ishasha Sector – The Tree-Climbing Lions of Uganda
Today you head south to the remote Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This quieter part of the park offers a true wilderness feel with few other vehicles in sight.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Into the Misty Highlands
After breakfast, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to over half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The scenic drive takes you through terraced highlands and mist-covered valleys. Arrive in the afternoon and relax at your forest lodge as you prepare for the life-changing gorilla trek the next day.

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking – The Ultimate Wildlife Encounter
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing before setting out on your gorilla trekking adventure. Guided by expert trackers, you’ll hike through dense forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take between 2–6 hours depending on their location, but every moment is unforgettable. Once found, you’ll spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural home. Return to the lodge for a warm shower, dinner, and a restful evening.

Day 11: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi – Uganda’s Most Beautiful Lake
After breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, meaning “the place of little birds.” This stunning lake is surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with 29 islands, offering tranquility and scenic relaxation after your trek. Spend the afternoon canoeing, swimming (the lake is bilharzia-free), or visiting local communities.

Day 12: Return to Entebbe – The Journey Home
