Pre-Departure & Travel Advice

Travelers departing from Cape Town International Airport (CPT) can connect to Entebbe International Airport (EBB) via Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, RwandAir, or Emirates, usually transiting through Addis Ababa, Nairobi, or Kigali. The full travel time averages 8–12 hours depending on layovers. It is highly recommended to arrive in Entebbe a day before the safari officially starts to rest and adjust after your international flight.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you are met by your professional driver-guide and transferred to your hotel near Lake Victoria. This day allows time to recover from international travel, enjoy the calm lakeside atmosphere, and prepare for the journey ahead. A detailed safari briefing is provided to set expectations for the days to come.

Day 2: Entebbe – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you depart Entebbe and travel north toward Murchison Falls National Park. The journey passes through countryside, towns, and changing landscapes as you approach Uganda’s largest protected area. Arrival is in the afternoon, followed by a visit to the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces itself through a narrow gorge before plunging into the river below.

Day 3: Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari in Murchison Falls

The day begins with an early morning game drive on the northern banks of the Nile, offering opportunities to see elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, and antelope. In the afternoon, you enjoy a boat safari along the Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls, bringing you close to hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife along the riverbanks.

Day 4: Murchison Falls – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

After an early breakfast, you proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest with experienced guides. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale is energetic and engaging, with chimps often heard before they are seen. The afternoon may include a guided walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, rich in birdlife and community interaction.

Day 6: Kibale – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
